The One is the first whisky to be released by the team behind The Lakes Distillery in Cumbria. As they only started producing in December 2014 and don't have their own whisky just yet, this is a blend of whiskies from around the British Isles - sweet, fruity and nutty.

Excellent, well-balanced whisky. Easy drinking, yet complex.

Great price at Aldi Australia. Being originally from the UK I thought I'd give it a try. Really really impressed, smoky and smooth. Will definitely buy more.

A bit mundane but definitely drinkable sipping whisky. The trick is to add a drop of still water and let it sit for a minute. That seems to bring the best of this dram - some sweetness and mild flavours. Got it at special 1 litre offering and it is well worth the money.

An excellent blend and very good price in Australia. It is what it says on the box: smokey and slightly sweet with a hint of spice. Definitely worth a try for any whisky drinker.

Easy drinking English whisky probably too expensive for what it offers. Secret to drinking this whisky is to add a teaspoon of still water and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Sweetness, slight smokiness, toffee and vanilla. Not a lot of complexity-finishing is ok. Youth of the blend is evident but doesn't show in your face.

Lovely smooth blend. I usually drink single malts, mainly islay, but found this just as enjoyable.

Loved it, perfect neat or with just a splash of water to release the complex flavours, very smooth, well balanced and no nasty after burn, I think it compares well with many single malts and for smoothness it competes above it's weight. Worth every penny.

Blend Friend below said it all; this is whisky for non whisky drinkers - a dull, over-priced, slightly pretentious blend, does very little in the mouth. Would avoid in future.

Just tried it from 5cl sample, not really impressed but it does have a strong flavour, not bad on the nose but way too expensive for a blended whisky. lets hope thier own is a lot better otherwise i can''t see it being a success.

Smoky peat. Not particularly satisfying. Would spend the money on a good entry single malt for a more enjoyable sup in future - far too expensive.

A bit bland. A safe product. A whisky for people who are not whisky lovers. Worryingly they say this is close to what they hope their single malt will taste like. Really over-priced too.

I tend to agree with Barry. It is an expensive blended whisky. But rather than say the well known brands he quotes are better than The One, I would say they are different. If you like discovering new whiskies, you will enjoy this One!

i found The One to be a very expensive blended whisky. world established blends like Johnny Walker, Chivas Regal, Teachers & Jameson are all at least a third cheaper in price than The One. all are better than The One. The One is Chill-Filtered, yet it is a very drinkable and enjoyable dram, but at the price, never again.
