Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

    • Nose

As fresh and invigorating as a walk on the seafront. Briney, cough sweets, liquorice, and fresh herbs (sage and rosemary).

    • Palate

Richer than expected, with warming notes of black pepper, sea salt and ozone, as well as a hint of honeyed fruit. Good weight.

    • Finish

The well-balanced peat acts as a seabreak to the subtle but welcome fruit.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this blend - a wonderful combination of sweetness, saltiness and peat.

Brilliant blend of malts. As soon as I tried it I ordered more. Lots more.

This alone, is a reason to give blended malt a go. Brine, smoke, citrus and herbs make this blend of Island malts a note-worthy dram in its own right. After a day at the coast, this is a real favourite of mine. Once tasted, never forgotten!

One of, if not the best blended whisky I have ever had! Wonderful sweet peat, with an amazing briny taste. A true maritime malt.
