Seedlip Spice 94 / Non-Alcoholic Spirit
Product Description

This non-alcoholic spirit alternative from Seedlip is one of the most innovative products we’ve seen for a long time. It’s made like a gin with botanicals, but is definitely not a gin. The predominant flavour is clove rather than juniper, and, most importantly, it has no alcohol! Perfect if you’re a designated driver or you’re not drinking at the moment.

Creator Ben Branson was bored of sweet, fizzy drinks, and he combined six botanicals to make Seedlip: allspice, grapefruit, lemon peel, cardamom, American oak and cascarilla bark. Together, they make a fresh, warming drink that is full of flavour but is alcohol free.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting notes by The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Mixed spice with an extra kick of clove and nutmeg. Rich dried citrus notes add a touch of weight, with zestier notes at the back.

    • Palate

The spice is up front, as you’d expect, with citrus filling in the gaps. Clove and allspice are at the core with a weighty wrapping of nutmeg and orange peel.

    • Finish

Short and spicy, but the citrus lingers.

    • Comment

This is definitely not gin, with clove replacing the more traditional juniper notes. It’s got the spice and citrus it needs to drop replace gin in a G&T, and the mix of flavours opens up possibilities for tasty new combinations with a whole world of mixers.

Total rubbish. A huge disappointment. To call it flavoured water would be overselling it. All things considered, an absolute rip off!

Ghastly grass flavored water. I feel totally ripped off. Obviously if you buy expensive tonic that’s what you’re tasting!

Like clove flavoured water. At $50 au. a very expensive bottle of water. Don't waste your money. I only gave it one star but it deserves none

It is absolutely crap. Weakly flavoured water at the price of a premium gin (plus if you count it does not pay excise). Everyone saying it is good it either paid to do it or is just going in the bandwagon. Truly terrible... Mix some toothpaste with water and you will have an equally satisfying drink!
