    5.3% ABV doesn''t even count as a strong beer. What happened to the lovage I remember from my youth, which I think must have been at least 20% ABV?

    It has the visage of dusty bottle destined for the back of the drinks cabinet, however, my father in law banged on about a fond memory of getting piddled on a boating trip with this, so I thought I''d buy him some and ended up drinking it all myself. With brandy it tastes not very far off a French 75, and that aint bad at all; add a squeeze of lemon and you''re only short the fizz, a new/old hit for the collection.

    This really is one underrated mixer. Try it with ANY brandy and it will transform it. Try it also with rum; it will take off the rawness to provide a smooth yet full flavoured tipple. The Devon herb & spice mix complements but does not challenge the base drink. Highly, highly recommended.

    lovely winter warmer with brandy 50/50
