Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting notes by Billy Abbott (The Whisky Exchange)

    • Nose

Spice and vanilla: custard tarts dusted with grated nutmeg. Lemon zest follows with fresh fruit – sweet pear, fruit gums, peach and pineapple cubes.

    • Taste

Creamy vanilla before fruit – pear and apple, sour lemon, unripe mangoes and gummi fruit. Spice builds, bringing biscuity and Ryvita notes. Creamy apple and pear sit underneath everything. Water amplifies the fruit.

    • Finish

Pear skin, whipped cream and touches of sour apple.

  • Producer's Tasting Notes

    • Nose

Creamy, delightfully fragrant and remarkably rounded with notes of soft spice and mellow spun sugar along with warm hints of woody vanilla.

    • Palate

The quality and perfect balance of the blend is immediately apparent on the palate through its velvety texture and sweet flavours including spiced pears and vanilla.

    • Finish

Lingering and gentle, ending with a light creaminess.

I tried this for the first time whilst in Ireland, to be honest I would normally turn my nose up at any other than that which hails from the Scotland. What a belter of a for the price! Smooth as silk. Now my go to.

Had this last night and it is sensational. The fruit experience on your tongue actually made me think of coconut but pear is accurate.
