I used to buy the aniversario in leather bags in Venezuela 2002 for the equivalent of £1.50. I now live in Spain where I buy it for 32 euros. It is a wonderful rum to use either on it's own or mixed.

Honestly tastes more like Scotch than rum. Was not a big fan.

I travelled to Venezuela once a month for years. On one trip, had a senior Exxon exec with me. He saw my bottle of Pampero, asked for a shot, then asked what type of cognac it was. I have friends from the islands that love this Rum. Found a case the other week, bought it, as it looks like Venezuela is going down the drain. Production dates were 2008, so can't comment on current production. Lovely flavor.

This is bad. There were less expensive better tasting rums I passed over. The flavor taste like alcohol and has a lingering after taste.

I lived in VZ for years, and this was my favorite by far. I have not noticed any variation from bottle to bottle even now that I am buying it here and VZ is in the toilet. the Santa Theresa 1796 is also nice but lacks the smokiness and complexity. The Diplomatico Reserva is good, but a bit sweet for me.

I was apprehensive to purchase this rum do to its origin. I don’t like to support anti American countries. I have to say this is a very nice sipping Rum. It is very smooth and enjoyable. Nice hints of fruit and vanilla without and over bearing oak taste. Nice clean finish. Although I don’t think I will buy it again because of its birth place.

Awful surprise. The opposite of what it used to be. Tastes more like turpentine or radiator coolant than rum. This ruins Venezuela's reputation for fine run. The distillery must be taking shortcuts.

I first was introduced to Pampero Aniversario at the Rum Bar in Key West. Loved it then , love it now! Great flavor and very smooth. Between this and Diplomatico, theses are my go to rums.

This is perplexing. This is neck and neck with one other variety as my all time favorites. But, reading some of the other reviews, I wonder if there is a quality control problem. I have probably had 8 or 10 bottles of this over the years and they have all been excellent.

I have fallen in love three times in my life, and the first sip of the Ron Pampero Aniversario was one of them. The sweet taste complementing the bitter aging. The golden color overwhelmed with the taste of spice. It was ambrosia. The single greatest thing to come in the long and everlasting ancient art of distillery. After taking a shot of this rum, I immediately took 10 more. If Jack Sparrow were to travel the seven seas and the ends of the world to find a rum that is beyond imaginable, it would be this one.

Not my cup of tea. Smells great unfortunately not great on the palette. Much better rums out there for less money

Excellent rum, too bad it is not sold in Albuquerque NM. Probably the best rum I've ever tasted.

Very disappointed. Comparing this to the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva i recently sampled, there''s no contest. The nose is harsh, burning paint stripper. The taste is thin, slight sweetness after. Even after adding a drop of water the raw spirity character mellows a touch but i still wouldnt rate it. The serving suggestion is with cola so if the company doesn''t even rate it, that says it all really.
