Customer Rating
Glenlivet is one of those distilleries whose malts just keep improving with age. This superb 21yo is an elegant, intricate, sophisticated malt, presented in a very smart wooden box - just don't drop it on your foot.

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

Nose: Complex aromas of gristy malt, oaty biscuits and green apples.

Palate: A subtle herbal, leafy note at first, then the rich malt arrives, with some classy oaky notes and a hint of spice. Slightly restrained, but complex stuff.

    Finish: Warm, rich and spicy.

Glenlivet has always been my favourite whisky. Thought I'd treat myself to something special other than the usual 15/18 yr olds. Glad I did! it's by far and away the best Whisky I've ever tasted! So smooth, a definite sipping Whisky.

Amazing, out of the world, best whiskey ever sipped.

This is a very rich, refined and complex malt. I have to take issue with the previous reviewer who recommends Nadurra instead, as the two are too far appart in style to compare.

Batch: 0711H Nose: Fairly mature nose of sherried sweetness. Some wood, fruits (pear), malt and marzipan. Taste: Again Sweet fruits, walnut, dark chocolate and cinnamon. Finish: Well balanced and woody SCORE: 81p Comment: I recommend the Glenlivet 16yo 'Nadurra' at 85p

My wonderful wife got me this for Christmas. Along with four Waterford glasses which are perfect for Scotch. We had a taste on Christmas Eve with our son and his girlfriend. Excellent! This is way above our norm. Every now and then it's nice to be treated to something very special.

So far, never have my taste buds been engulfed with so many voluptuously intricate flavors. After recovering from an initial pleasant surprise, I took another swig and experienced a tingling sensation. I was overwhelmed once again. A superb scotch at a reasonable price. Thank you Glenlivet for making The Nectar of the Gods. DZ from VA.
