Appearance
Clear, deep mahogany with burgundy red and gold highlights.
Aroma
Pungent molasses and burnt fruit cake, raisins, vanilla and mocha coffee.
Taste
Brawny, bittersweet, slightly burnt palate with crème brûlée, thick molasses, liquorice and hot spice.
Aftertaste
Lingering molasses, dark berry fruit, woody liquorice and clove spice. A proper Demerera 'dark' rum with huge character and attitude.

Have tried before. Best run in the world!
Generally I thought it was a refreshing change from the darker rums like Black Magic or Kraken, which I usually tend to buy. If you like the aforementioned then give this one a go – it is in the same price bracket so it won’t put a dent in your purse or wallet and enjoy and try something new if you have not yet sampled its delights. Dense, complex and crammed with flavour. It''s become my mixer of choice, but more than holds its own straight.
Perfectly balanced straight or mixed. Great example of a dark rum and well worth making it your staple if dark rums are your thing.
Not too sweet or too bitter and a good taste of molasses without overpowering the pleasant currenty fruitiness. Jolly nice stuff and at a sensible 40% alcohol and reasonable price well worth having more than a single.
