Product Description
A rich and sweet whisky from Benrinnes distillery, on the northern shoulder of Ben Rinnes, 700 feet above sea level. Chocolate liqueurs, well-worn leather, soft smoke and dense floral aromas open on the nose, with pine needles, polished wood and dried fruit underneath. The palate is sweet and rich, offering rum-like fruitiness, sultanas, sticky dates and charred, smoky oak that linger in the finish.

Pleasant if a little simple. Not overly complex. Having experimented I think it is nicer as a before dinner sharpener. The first few drams were very sweet and little else. The bottle opened up after a while. The flavour reminds me of a common blend, Bells or Teachers or one of those, but with more body and sweetness. I initially thought I would not get any more then I bought a second bottle, one is allowed to change. one's mind! It is smooth, lots of body, sweetish and enjoyable. Makes a pleasant change from chewing a heavy Islay malt.
This is hands down one of the best Scotches I have ever had in my life (and I've had a lot). It's so well-balanced, complex, smooth, sweet....it's as good as it gets! I can't believe the majority of this distillery's Scotch goes to some blended whiskey. Everyone I have shared this with also completely loved it. Giving this Scotch 5 stars does not do it justice.....sooo incredible!!
After the Linkwood of the same range Flora and Fauna , again this is a great dram. It maybe 43%, but clings to you're glass, loads of florals and deep fruits. For the money good buy.
