Product Description
Our Black Friday bottling for 2024 is a complex, smoky dram that combines coastal minerality with old-fashioned sherry character. Distilled on the rugged Isle of Jura and matured in a small parcel of American oak oloroso hogsheads, this limited-edition single malt carries notes of rockpools, cider apples, honey roasted nuts, dry spices, leather and hints of citrus. Medicinal peat smoke brings waves of burning juniper branches and menthol that persist over a pleasantly dry finish. This is a whisky to warm the spirit, and we are very proud to include it in our Black Friday series.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Florentines by a coal fire: cherries, roasted hazelnuts and almonds, coal embers and cocoa. Earthy smoke builds, with burning leaves and wood turning slowly medicinal. Cloth bandages and chamois leather lead to stewed orchard fruit dusted with brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Palate
Worn leather, roasted apples and chocolate-covered Ryvita to start. Richer fruit builds from below: the cherries from the nose are joined by sticky raisins and juicy sultanas. Menthol notes build alongside sappy oak and medicinal peat smoke. Orange zest and stewed lemons hide at the back with cinnamon heat and dark chocolate.
Finish
Soft wood smoke, singed cinnamon, baked apples and a touch of Cherry Bakewell.
Scotland’s Wild West
Black Friday at The Whisky Exchange has always been about bringing you a great whisky at a great price. The thing that most impressed us when we sampled this particular single malt was the way it conveyed a sense of place. Whiskies from Scotland’s western isles often have an elemental quality, but we particularly enjoyed the way this one reminded us of beach bonfires, sea herbs and wet rocks. Those evocative notes combined with the savoury quality of the sherry and the hints of vanilla from the American oak left us in no doubt we had found our Black Friday whisky for 2024.
