This 13-year-old Edradour was finished in a first-fill marsala hogshead and bottled for The Whisky Exchange with the expertise of Andrew Symington. This is a rugged and spicy dram that displays aromas of basketballs, charred panettone, golden syrup, and mostarda, complemented by notes of cinnamon, liquorice, golden raisins, and mead. Don’t be afraid to add some water to this, it can take it.

    • Nose

      Honeycomb, cinder toffee and golden raisins to start. Vanilla biscuits develop, both plain and dusted with lemon zest. Hints of sweet sesame crackers develop, along with crème brûlée topping and baked apple.

    • Palate

      Baked apples and toffee sauce lead, with bright pops of plump sultana and fragrant sweet grapes. Darker caramel and fruit cake notes develop underneath with a hint of crashing-wave ozone and dark raisins.

    • Finish

      Crisp apple and pear notes with lingering peppery spice and toffee sauce.
