From the revived Annandale whisky distillery comes an addition to its peated Man O’Sword range, which is named after the Seventh Lord of Annandale and King of Scots, Robert The Bruce.

This expression was taken from cask 367, a shaved, toasted and re-charred (STR) French burgundy cask made to the specifications of the late Dr Jim Swan, to allow the wood to influence the whisky in ways that are interestingly different to virgin oak. The nose presents gentle smoke, complementing vanilla, cinnamon, treacle and orchard fruit. That continues onto an oily palate, with additional creamy vanilla and baked fruit before a lingering finish.
