Bowmore 1985 Reviews
Tasting Notes by Tim F
N: Turfsmoke, caramel, honey-glazed ham, fruit and a perfumed note which starts in the background and becomes more pronounced as the aromas develop. Quite volatile, needs time to settle and open up. Oatmeal cookies, bacon fat, raisins, syrup, coal, sweetpea, caramac bar and peach melba yoghurt emerge.
P: Very different to the nose. Incredibly floral and perfumed, with the peat sitting in the background. Like a concentrated liquid version of Parma Violets sweets. Literally makes the mouth water. Calms down a lot with water, becoming herby.
F: Warm and tingling with floral / perfumed / lavender notes.
C: The most perfumey Bowmore this taster has yet encountered. Destined to be a 'love-it-or-hate-it' dram. Fans of Parma Violets will be well up for this.
