Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Tim F
N
Really intense honeysuckle alongside some grassy, meadowy aromas, varnished wood, gingerbread syrup, smoked vanilla, some dried fruit, dried flowers. The oak becomes more evident, with hints of church pews and old newspapers, but the honey and meadowy notes keep it afloat. Eventually some stewed apple notes appear.
P
Medium-bodied. Honeyed fruit, richer than the nose suggests, with a big mid-palate of walnuts and wood on a bed of rich brown sugar and melted vanilla ice cream, dusted with cocoa powder, chocoalte chips and a hint of cake spices and smoke.
F
Medium-length, fading very gracefully away leaving a pleasant sweetness and tingling spice.
C
No point in adding water at this abv - from the strength alone you can tell that we rescued this in the nick of time. This malt is graceful, old and sweet with a stash of faintly dusty chocolate: like a beloved ancient grandmother. A treat.

Customer Reviews
I've just been presented with a bottle of this for my 40th by my parents. I have to say the caramel vanilla notes and the smoothness of this wonderful little tipple are amazing. I was in two minds wether to open it or keep it but in my opinion if someone is prepared to put 40 years of devotion into a bottle of whisky it would be a crime not to show your appreciation by drinking it.
I bought it to celebrate the birth of my son.I have taste many brands with different ages.Amazing whisky, worths every penny of it.Before you drink it let ii breath.
I'm definitely not a seasoned whiskey drinker, but this stuff is delicious. It is very smooth and tastes like vanilla. Well worth the price!
