Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Thick orchard fruit, balancing sweet and sharp apple against rich stewed pear. Hints of custard tart, candied lemon and ripe mango develop, with dried papaya, sweet white grapes and plump sultanas following.

    • Palate

Soft and rounded. The fruit nose all rolls through into the palate, with the sharp apple and creamy pear leading. Hint of liquorice and sweet nutmeg spiciness build. Tropical fruit cordial pushes through the middle, surrounded by sweet puff pastry.

    • Finish

Custard tarts layered with tropical fruit to start. They fade to leave apple skin and a touch of damp oak.

    • Comment

Big and fruity, with a careful balance of orchard and tropical fruit backed up by gentle spice and pastry notes.
