AdelphiBlended Malt Scotch Whisky

Loch Katrine Adelphi Distillery was built in 1826 by Charles and David Gray in Glasgow. In 1886 the distillery became one of the largest in Scotland with the installation of Coffey stills and four pot stills, but was demolished less than a century later. In 1984 Glasgow Central mosque was erected on the former site of Adelphi Distillery. Jamie Walker (the great-grandson of Archibald Walker) revived the Adelphi name as an independent bottler in 1993, in order to explore the mysteries of malt whisky. He was determined not to sacrifice quality for volume, and he was equally adamant that this should be continued even when he sold the company in 2004. In 2014 Walker opened Ardnamurchan distillery, starting a new chapter in the company's history.
