Three years after a formative visit to the whisky distilleries of Scotland in 2000, Rick Wasmund launched Copper Fox. Located in Sperryville, Virginia, the distillery has produced the first applewood-aged whisky in the world. Taking particular inspiration from Bowmore distillery, Copper Fox introduced the first US distillery malt floor and kiln since the Prohibition repeal.
