XO (‘Extra Old’) Cognacs display great complexity and a vast array of aromas and nuances. Since April 2018, they must be at least ten years old, but in practice, they are much older, and are extremely rich and smooth. Napoleon Cognacs are at least six years old. It would be a crime to use good XO Cognacs in a cocktail – they are much better suited as a digestif after a good meal.

Incredibly smooth and rich, XO Cognacs should be savoured – serve them neat as a digestif as the perfect end to a meal. Napoleon is a designation officially introduced in April 2018 for Cognacs aged for at least six years.
