Formerly known as Yellow Label, this is a very popular bourbon, aged a minimum of five years in oak barrels for extra smoothness and carefully blended for a consistently smooth, creamy flavour.

Hard to find better than this. It has a melted-butter smoothness that is hard to find.

As history has said it and marketed, this is true to its nature... 'underwhelming'... If your looking for a bourbon with no umph and just a mixer with no crazy finishes this is a perfectly easy one to use. Because I could drink a glass of this on a hot day when I need a highball mixer and definitely not a sipper, this is an easy one to go to.

Too much ethanol taste for me. I prefer Jim Beam.

Woeful. Maybe good for cocktails / mixing as it is very citrus. Though I don't go in for mixing. I hate this and will not drink it again. At this price I'd go for Buffalo Trace and Wild Turkey. Better still the FR Small Batch at a few notes more.

Smells like a good bourbon. But it has an artificial taste. Thin body and sadly unpleasant.

Received a bottle as a gift and immediately fell in love with it. I let it sit for about 10 minutes before drinking and added a couple of ice cubes and found it to be very tasty

My favourite reasonably priced bourbon since I discovered it 16 years ago. A soft whisky, lovely neat or with a mixer.

I like this bourbon. It''s quite light and I wouldn''t describe it as ''complex'' but it''s entirely drinkable even straight up - it doesn''t burn and doesn''t have a nasty alcoholic taste. It''s somewhat floral and I almost want to say there are hints of honey but I think floral is closer. It works well in cocktails as it doesn''t overpower the other ingredients - it seems to be more about the grains and less about the wood. For the extra few quid this is miles ahead of Jim Beam and well worth the extra money. I would say I''d drink this over Jack Daniels any day but I really don''t like Jack Daniels so it would be a meaningless thing to say - I''d drink water over that stuff.

This is an excellent Bourbon, perhaps the best on the market today.

Good little all rounder this one, really nice on it's own,ok with a little ice, and great with coke, my bourbon of choice with a mixer at the moment (it will change again no doubt), well worth the money.

The taste and scent of oranges -- which is actually quite intense --gives this a unique flavour. But it's less powerful than most and didn't quite hit the spot. Great price, though.

Great stuff for under £20 - it's the small grain influence that makes it, as the rye gives a wonderful sharp orange tang to compliment the smoother elements.

One of the better bourbons I have tasted, very smooth and refined and less sweet than some. They do a single barrel but not tasted that yet!

I heard that the 4 roses yellow label has been produced for the European

  • harrystrill 25 June 2009

nice more depth and flavour than jim or jack and a little cheeper too

  • Dave 10 May 2009

A nice smooth whiskey. A nice alternative to the Jim Beam etc.

  • L.P.Breen 29 August 2008

This is a really smooth whiskey. I find it to be even smoother in the mouth than Woodford Reserve, but not as long or nice a finish. Very easy to drink ( maybe to easy ) as a bottle never lasts that long in my household!!
