A curious gin from the Black Forest in Germany. Made with 47 (yes, really) botanicals and bottled at 47%, they also use a 'secret weapon typical to the Black Forest' in the mix – cranberries.

Ironically, I first tried it at a scotch and Cigar dinner. My first taste won me over! I couldn't wait to go out and buy a bottle. Pour over ice into a shaker and gently stir, serve with a garnish of orange peel. Amazing!

Interesting gin - nobody has said this, but a great variation as the base of a Martini if you are looking for a change....

One of the best gins about. Try with BTW tonic.

It's okay; I tried it at my son's urging. I prefer Tanqueray--I like the juniper and dry, hot spice components. Not a fan of elderflower, and that flavor seems to predominate.

A complex and interesting gin but given the great variety of gins on the market I'm not sure it justifies the premium price - will buy again but......

Best gin ever. I have been and still am a Bombay Sapphire and Fever Tree tonic fan. Recently introduced to Monkey 47 at the Pulitzer Hotel bar in Amsterdam and was blown away. Hard to get and expensive but worth it!

We were introduced to Monkey 47 at Bon Vivant near our hotel in Prague. Best Gin ever. Went back three times. Had gin and tonic with rosemary the first night and with essence of orange the second time .... third visit had both! Owner gave us address of market that carried Monkey 47. It was a couple of subway stops away, but worth the trip to bring home the best Prague souvenir.

The best ! Smooth enough to drink neat. Best recently had with fever tree plus grapefruit slice and fresh basil.

Quite simply the best gin that I have ever tasted. Pair with a good quality tonic and plenty of ice (no need for lemon or lime) for a sublime G&T. Pair it with Fentiman's Rose Lemonade for a taste sensation!
