Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes by Rocky
- Nose
  A whack of peat – iodine more than TCP.
- Palate
  Warming, with the youthful peat balanced by sweetness and orange notes.
- Finish
  Warming, with the fruitiness slowly dissipating to leave warming iodine notes.
- Comment
  Rather rough around the edges, but it is very young, so this can be overlooked. A real insight into what the distillery is capable of producing in terms of peated whisky, and shows excellent potential.
Tasting notes by Billy A
- Nose
  Smoked ham, cocoa powder, a medicinal edge, damp peat, sugary sweetness, limestone and swimming pools.
- Palate
  Big mineral note and a burst of red fruit up front followed by liqueur chocolates, coffee grounds, medicinal peat and lots of heat. Water calms down the burn, turns up the chocolate and adds more fruit, while revealing some young spirit graininess.
- Finish
  Chocolate cake and coal fires, glace cherries and a hint of chlorine.
- Comment
  At an (estimated) 2 years old this is impressive - lots of flavour, great chocolatey notes and good on its own as well as an indication of future releases.
