Nose
Pronounced juniper-led nose, with delicate floral notes in the background.
Palate
Floral elderflower and acacia intermingle with sweet rhubarb and zesty orange.
Finish
Medium in length, with a floral ending.
Comment
A very complex and floral gin, with the production method allowing the intricacies of all the elements to shine through.
Producer's Notes
The gin holds clear citric notes, still smooth distinct tone of Mauritian Bourbon Vanilla and Cassia bark. Fresh Swedish junipers give a round character, well balanced with Cardamom and Calamus root.
Sichuan pepper, Aniseed and Guinea pepper gives structure and edge.
This gin has a surprisingly long smooth aftertaste with gentle touch of Liquorice and cut hay.
The heritage of the origin has clearly influenced the profile of this gin.

Very nice Gin this is, going to be trying it in navy strength next. Juniper led finishing with a lovely taste or liquorice.
A lot of cedar and fresh eucalyptus. Following are cloves and more white wood aromas. This is no gin for everyone and goes beyond the Junipery and citrusy repetitive ''craft'' gin styles which flooded the market over the last two years. Spirit of Hven is a sipping Gin better to be enjoyed over ice or with Soda as a refreshing long drink.
I had high hopes for this gin - I've had gins from the northern latitudes before which have been excellent, so one from Sweden caught my eye. Sadly the overwhelming "woodiness" of this gin made it an unpleasant experience. It wasn't just myself that felt it has a wooden taste. If any botanicals came through in either the "nose", "palate" or "finish" they were lost on me and I certainly didn't recognise any elements of the producer's notes. I wondered if I was actually chewing on the wooden case! An expensive mistake - won't be getting this one again...
