Highland Park 1999 / 14 Year Old / Signatory / TWE Exclusive
Product Description

A 14-year-old Highland Park from Signatory, bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange in September 2014. We tried a lot of 1999 vintage whiskies from the distillery while selecting this cask, looking for a balance of rich fruit and spice. This ticked all the boxes and was a must-have from the moment we tasted it.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Billy A

    • Nose

Sweet stewed apple, fruity gummi chews, pear drops, rhubarb and custard sweets, porridge (with dark demerara sugar) and hints of furniture polish.

    • Palate

Softer than expected to start, with cream and gentle ground cinnamon spiciness. Fruit rolls in behind that, with raisins and apple joined by cinnamon bark and soft flapjacks. There's an elegant mustiness hiding behind the fruit, like an old cupboard, with hints of flamed orange zest appearing right at the end.

    • Finish

Gentle cinnamon and nutmeg spiced porridge, with sweet grass and hay notes growing as it fades.

    • Comment

A fruit bomb on the nose that carries on into the palate with a rich creaminess.
