Product Description
Pickering's Gin is made at the first distillery to open in Edinburgh for 150 years: Summerhall. Made to a original Bombay recipe which had remained secret for more than 65 years, this is an aromatic gin with hints of nuts, liquorice and cinnamon.

We stopped by a cafe near Waverly and ordered a Naval strength gin and tonic. It was so smooth my wife wanted to order another. It was smooth and tasted what I call a true gin taste.

Fab Gin - just rather small bottle. Must order larger next time... It's perfect with ginger ale.

Wow! We currently have seven gins on the shelf, six reserved for dry martinis with a twist of lemon. They include Monkey, with its 47 botanicals, and Crossbill, with two. Like the latter, this is an Edinburgh gin, and we rate it very highly. I would gone on (and on) about the lovely clean, invigorating taste and nose that deliver a really great martini, but thanks to the producers' note above I detect the lavender they mention - on a very clean and positive (not sweet) way. Those producers make their own spirit, rather than buying on a generic spirit as the base, and maybe that explains the quality of the result. I'm tempted to say that I'm more impressed by this gin than anything else we have in stock - I may have a Jensen's Old Tom or a Yorkshire gin next time and find them as good. So let me err on the side of caution and simply say that for martini lovers this is as good as it gets! (I make martinis following the recipe given by the late, great James Salter in the food and drink book he co-wrote with his wife: "Life Is Meals". ) We will be ordering another bottle of Pickering's from the Whisky Exchange for sure!!!

Incredibly smooth, citrus-forward, london dry-style gin. A staple for the weekly G&T's. Love it with grapefruit as they suggest.

Absolutely fantastic! Smoothest gin I have ever tasted. Very impressed
