Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Gavin Smith

    • Nose

Baked apples and spicy malt. A pleasingly mature character to it.

    • Palate

Big bodied, slightly oily, with nutmeg and red wine. Sophisticated and assured.

    • Finish

Notably long, drying with dark syrup and liquorice notes.

    • Comment

A confident whiskey that feels as though it has some age to it.

  • Tasting Notes by Dave Broom

    • Nose

Rich and ripe, with some dark (cooked) black fruit. Raisin, cocoa, praline, coconut. Substantial smooth succulence.

    • Palate

Sweet start then it firms up in the centre where the nuts return melting into the chocolate and raisin. Chewy and tongue coating. Showing some complexity.

    • Finish

      Long, sweet.

    • Comment

      Beautifully balanced.

I am not a connoisseur but I do know what I like and that is 'Bushmills Black Bush', a smooth taste and a very long finish that clings to the palate and allows the flavours to linger longer. Such fine characteristics for a very fine Whiskey.

I had my 1st try of Bushmill Black Bush yesterday and it taste really good. Nose - hint of cinnamon and caramel... you can taste that it’s predominantly single malt... for the the price, one the best whiskey out there!

Smooth, with rich flavour. As enjoyable neat as some single malts costing twice as much or more.

This is my go to drink. Has been for over 15 years. This is, in my opinion, the best whisky of all kinds in this price range.
