Ever tried a whisky aged in chestnut wood before? We thought not! This also spends time in bourbon and sherry casks, adding layers of Christmas spices and tropical fruit. Absolutely delicious.

Method and Madness Single Pot Still Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

Nose: Rich and warming, with Christmas spices, honey and dried orange peel.

Palate: Initial blast of sweet fruit – intense candied fruit and stewed apple. Lovely mouthcoating texture with fragrant citrus and spicy cinnamon.

Finish: Rich and long-lasting; lovely balance of fruit and spice.

Comment: My personal favourite of the Method and Madness range. Rich, fruity and spicy – everything I look for in a single pot still whiskey.

I brought back several different whiskeys from Ireland. This was by far the best. Smooth and just a hint of sweet. Wish it was here in Montana.

Fantastic mix of aromas and flavor. Very refreshing to see something that is a bit different and clearly well constructed whiskey. Far too many generic, overpriced age statement scotch whiskys around . Job well done from the guys at method and madness and a big thumbs up to the Irish whiskey industry for allowing innovative projects like this to happen. Cant wait to see whats next.

Super dram, but getting increasingly difficult to find. Not a bottle left in Dublin it appears.

outstanding especially with a cuban quai d' orsay corona . Very sophisticated sip with fruit, wood, and oh so smooth.

This is genuinely an excellent Irish whiskey and really showcases the craft of balancing the influence of the wood with the power of the single pot still spirit.

When i 1st seen this whiskey, i was ok, then noticed it was from midleton, i didn't hesitate, this is sumptuous, the 1st smell was typical pot still, flavour and peppery typical, but that chestnut wood coming through gives it more roundness, don't hesitate this is good!
