  Nose: Crisp apples on the seashore – orchard fruit, sea spray and a hint of seaweed. More fruit builds behind the apples, with lemon and pineapple joined by a touch of unripe mango. After a few minutes in the glass, a gentle note of buttery pastry drifts out from beneath the fruit.

  Palate: Soft, rounded and chewy, with sun-drenched mangoes sat beside crunchy Granny Smiths. A savoury minerality builds behind, with tarred ropes and earthy peat smoke balanced by charcoal and stony beach rockpools.

  Finish: A pinch of white pepper heat fades to reveal sweet fruit. Tartness builds and then fades to leave a gentle peppery tingle and soft, tarry smoke.

  Comment: Classic fruity Bowmore with balanced sweetness, smoke and spice. If you like tropical fruit, get this.
