Jameson 18 Year Old
70cl / 55.3%
Bow Street Edition
- Irish Whiskey
A very special edition of Jameson's classic 18-year-old whiskey. Not only is it bottled at a punchy 55.4% ABV, it's also partly matured at the old Bow Street distillery, now the Jameson Experience and visitors centre in Dublin. They ship bourbon and sherry casks up from Midleton distillery for a few months of finishing in a tiny onsite warehouse that you can visit as part of the tour, before vatting them together to create Jameson 18 Year Old Bow Street Edition.
Jameson 18 Year Old Reviews
Tasting notes by Billy Abbott (The Whisky Exchange)
Nose: Floral and candied, with lemon, sultana, stewed sweet apple and a touch of sweet fruit gums. Iced buns and cinnamon rolls follow, with beeswax-polished oak and a touch of syrupy honey.
Palate: Apple Danish pastries start things off, with a heavy hand on the spice: cinnamon and clove. The apple is sharp and balanced with soft brown sugar and a touch of bittersweet molasses.
Finish: A burst of dunnage-warehouse earthiness is followed by perfumed oak, candy bracelets sherbet lemons and lingering apple.
