This special-edition single malt offers a clear expression of the Cardhu distillery character, with fruit pastries, orange peel and hints of elderflower. There’s some quite active oak casks in the mix here, which adds structure and weight as well as notes of toffee, cinnamon rolls and mulling spices. An approachable but nuanced whisky from one of Speyside’s oldest distilleries. This is perfect for Game of Thrones fans – especially those with a soft spot for the dragon-riding House Targaryen – but also a very fine dram in its own right.

Nose
The golden amber appearance is reinforced on the nose which delivers soft honeyed aromas with a gentle wisp of toasted oak.
Palate
On the palate is opens with baked apple & warming spices like cinnamon and allspice that then quickly evolves into a rich caramel character with hints of clove and red apples.
Finish
It has a gentle malty biscuit finish.

I found-- a hard to find- bottle of whiskey, and the price was fair, ordering was quick and easy, and delivery-- across the Atlantic, was impressively quick. Communication arrived as needed, and I couldn't be more thrilled!
This has been my go to tipple for the past 6 years First tried it while on holiday in zakynthos. Soon found myself buying it when I returned home. A lovely smooth drink that I appreciate as a night cap
Super tasty. Buttery mouth feel and complex sweetness. I was surprised the Targaryen House whisky didn't have more smoke intensity... But I guess that's about right for a Cardhu. I recommend buying a bottle if you can still find one.
