Doorly's 14 Year Old Rum

The Seale family has been in the rum business since the 1920s, but they only began distilling in 1996 when fourth generation owner Richard Seale installed stills in the disused Foursquare sugar factory. Since then, he has worked to make rums that compete in the same weight class as any Cognac or malt whisky. The distillery’s flagship Doorly’s range – named for Richard’s long-time business partner – is a fantastic introduction to Barbados rum.

    Excellent Rum to sip on it's own, no water. Very sweet, rich, oily liquor with mango flavourings. I enjoyed this and would recommend to other customers!

    Had to leave a good review to bolster the completely unjustified 3.5 rating! This rum is excellent. Rich and full flavoured - lots of fruit notes but not too sweet (as with some other rums, like Zapaca). Alcohol at 48% is well integrated. Foursquare rums are the benchmark.

    Another top quality product from 4Sq, i can't believe that another reviewer has suggested the Zacapa is a superior rum?????? This is +4 Star rum......

    If you're not an experienced rum drinker, save your money and get the 12! This stuff's much too strong to drink neat Aromas; Caramel, dried fruit, melon, raisins and vanilla. "Christmas pudding" hit my mind with this one. In the tasting, there was an instant flash of lime, rounding off into a salted caramel, cinnamon and ginger. It was much too strong for me to properly enjoy; perhaps my tastebuds aren't quite ready for the older variants. It just burnt, with no smoothness to the body, that you get in a 12 or a Zacapa. Aftertaste notes popped up with a more savoury finish with black pepper. This tailed off eventually into a jasmine fragrance
