Product Description
Non Chill-Filtered is an interesting variant on Aberlour's usual 12 year old whisky, not only changing the proportions of different whiskies that are used to make the expression, but also leaving it un-chillfiltered. This means that it retains the full body and flavour of the whisky from the cask, although it may go cloudy if water is added or it gets cold.

An excellent offering from Aberlour. I enjoy malt whisky in a whole range of styles, from smoky Islays to rich "sherry bombs" and all points between. But among the sweeter whiskies Aberlour has long been a firm favourite. While the flavours and aromas here are unmistakably Aberlour, the higher ABV and lack of filtration seem to slightly de-emphasise its inherent sweetness and allow significantly more complexity to show through. And though certainly not a "beginners' malt", the high ABV is very well integrated and never overly aggressive to drink neat (my own preference). All in all, while the core 12yo expression remains a favourite "easy-drinker", this is a whisky that thoroughly rewards more time and attention to savouring and is a real star turn in "bang for buck". This seems to no longer be available, and I REALLY hope that is only a temporary situation, as this is a whisky I would love to buy regularly in future as I'm sure others will too.
A tragically ignored gem of a whisky. Milk chocolate covered raisins, plums, toffee, sweet strawberries, spices and some dark chocolate oak to balance it out. All the other Aberlour expressions (except A'bunadh) are bottled at a paltry 40-43% ABV and I'm always left thinking how wonderful it would be if they had more presence, more power. With this dram I was not disappointed. Highly recommended!
Exceptional sherried whisky, more refined than the A’bunadh in my opinion and only surpassed by the magical Macallan Cask Strength
Very good, tasty dram this at a good 48%,so strong and full of flavour...well worth the reasonable price for the high quality you get!??
Nice dram this one with caramel and vanilla..possibly hints of cinnamon.Good value for money..
