Absolutely amazing. Sweet red berries, honey, caramel and brown sugar on the nose. Sweetness carries over to the palate, red fruit, honey and light melon with a smooth lingering finish. Non-chill filtered and natural colour at 46ABV puts this in a higher class, must try.
ABV 46% Natural Color? Yes! Chill Filtration? No! (Yeah!) Wood Management Note 12 years in ex-Bourbon casks followed by 18 - 24 months in port pipes (yeah!!!). Nose (undiluted) Vanilla, nutmeg, oak, sawdust, damp wood, forest leaves, cooked apples. Palate (undiluted) Creamy port, dark chocolate, light spiciness of berries, fig and pecans. The body is light! Finish (undiluted) Herbaceous, mineral water notes, grapefruit, blood oranges and apricot. Finish is long.
Lovely and rich flavour. Hints of caramel but still with that comforting heat. If you like Port finished whisky this is a must. The picture of the bottle needs update on here.
Very very nice, a port finish well made, much more so then the weak and disappointing glenmo quinta ruben
The fruit and impact of the Port finish exploded on my palate. Wow!
