This is a maritime dram in which Caol Ila's typically-fierce peatiness has burned down to embers; the spirit is redolent with coal dust and ashy smoke, run through with a sharp and distinct menthol note.

Producer's tasting notes:
- Nose
  
  The nose opens with a littoral, maritime, fresh character.
- Palate
  
  The palate opens rather subtly, distinctly sweet and develops into a menthol cough drop style, showing also a peated backdrop amongst tar and chimney soot.
- Finish
  
  The finish is spiced, ashy and coal dusted.
