Product Description

A 2008 Mannochmore single malt from indie bottler Watt Whisky, matured in a pair of hogsheads of 12 years and rested in an ex-brandy butt for three months before being bottled in 2020. Its a creamy, nutty whisky, with notes of roast hazelnuts, honeycomb and fresh ginger throughout the palate.

    I have not had many Mannochmore’s before, but based on this one I will definitely be seeking out more. The brandy influence is subtle, as it’s only spent a short time on this cask. I have gone back to buy another couple of bottles.

    Not the best Mannochmore I have tasted , do not agree that the finishing in cognac casks has added any extra flavours to the spirit , on the whole as a fan of Mannochmore I was slightly disappointed in the flavour profile , quite bland and very strong vanilla notes , rather overpowering. As this was the first release of Watt Whisky I can only hope further releases will improve.
