Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

    • Nose

Appealingly heady nose of candied orange peel and pot pourri - very fragrant and aromatic, with lightness of touch.

    • Palate

The aromatic fruit continues on to the palate, with toasty spice. Good texture and balance.

    • Finish

The light fruit makes way for the biscuity malt and subtle cinnamon-tinged spice.

  • Tasting Notes by Robin Laing, World Whiskies Awards 2012

    • Dusty, sweet, chocolate - opening a tin of Bourbon creams - hint of Plasticine. Beautiful sweetness up front (brown sugar, toffee, coconut macaroons, madeleines) with deeper notes following - ginger, nutmeg, Victory V spice - mouth-filling, chewy and rich.

    Anonymous,

Lovely whiskey. As expected it is very similar to Redbreast 12 but at 46% has a bit more depth. They say it has more bourbon aged whiskey and that fits with the spice on the palate. This is a keeper.

    Lazenby,

    Absolutely outstanding. Love it

    Scott Pell,

Absolutely the best Irish whiskey I’ve tried to date. Much better than Red Breast or Green Spot. Powers Gold is a strong runner up.

    The Coastal Emperor,

    Chunky, rustic, real.

    Martin O'Brien,

Delicious whiskey with long lasting, complex aftertones of spice and oak. My absolute favourite. Richer than a Redbreast with a satisfying heat.
