Customer Rating

Seductively woody, with substantial oakiness and lush notes of sherry, Glenfiddich 30yo is an evening whisky, with sweet floral top notes and a long honeyed finish. This is the last edition of Glenfiddich 30yo before its 2010 relaunch, and it celebrates the 40th anniversary of the opening of the distillery's visitor centre in 1969.

Excellent whiskey, simply the best I've drunk so far!

I really like Glenfiddich's whisky. I am a loyal 18 yo drinker (beats the Glenmorangie equivalent by a mile). However, I have been enjoying the 30yo over the last two nights. An absolute pleasure to drink. Smells great and has a great warmth to it. The colour is also exceptional. Very fine whisky indeed.

I've been drinking the 21 year GF for a couple years now

Got a bottle for Christmas. Very fine, wonderfully rich and aromatic, so marvelous I just sip enough to have it evaporate in my mouth; breath it don't swallow and you will truly understand what a marvelous scotch this is. Smooth rich and complex from start to finish. Dollar to dollar I have never found anything even close this. Those that didn't find it smooth at the finish; I can only assume you got a bottle that was not properly stored.

I must agree with the reviewer who posted his comments on 14 Jan 2009, I'm no expert either but I found the 30y.o. very disappointing. It starts off smoothly with the promise of something really special, then it opens up like a blended scotch and while it's not nasty... it's certainly not the smooth finish you would expect of a 30y.o.

I've tasted and enjoyed many a well-aged single malt and I have thoroughly (completely) enjoyed three bottles of this 30-year-old gem over time. The best scotch I've ever tasted. For me, nothing else compares. I hear the 50-year-old Glen is better, but I am not willing to sell my house to find out!

I'm no expert, and the drunken buzz probably enhances my euphoria, but I just can't seem to stop grinning after drinking this whisky. Old leather is what I've been able to determine, and I'm absolutely loving it. I must admit though that this is the oldest whisky I've ever had, and have nothing of a similar age to compare this whisky to. Lemme just say that if you're used to drinking 10-16 yo whiskies like me, this will blow your socks off in a big way.

the 18 and 21 y.o is better than this in my uneducated opinion .the 18 y.o was smooth all the way down

  • KHY 9 September 2007

This one is even better than the 21 y.o. Ancient Reserve. Try it.
