Yes, love it, but only drink a large dram every New Year. Only have enough for one more toast in '25.
Glencoe 8-year-old has been a favorite of mine for many years, my first bottle was purchased in Edinburgh about thirty years ago. Many Glencoe bottles have passed through my hands and I hope more will come my way. A drink not to be rushed just sip at leisure.
Bought the Glencoe Whisky as a birthday present for my husband and it came very quick! I ordered it on Monday 23rd November and it came today Wednesday 24th!!!! Husband loves the taste and says it’s his favourite whisky
Oily, grimy aroma - green, unripe fruits, olives, and pickled gherkins. Which I love. Undiluted it has a savoury, dried fruit note consistent with sherry cask. Reminds me of Glenfarclas 101. The only downside with this one is that it doesn’t take water very well - it goes a bit vegetal and cabbagy. But undiluted it’s great. Just means small sips and small doses are recommended. Nice to see an age statement. I like Ben Nevis - feels like they still produce and market the old fashioned way.
This is a fabulous bottle of whisky! For my taste it requires some water as at 58% (cask strength) the alcohol is initially overpowering, but once the water has done it's job and it has been left in the glass for 10 mins for the angels to take their share, then you are rewarded with an amazing experience, especially for less than £40 a bottle. This needs to be savoured and if you take the time to allow the flavours to be fully released then you will be well rewarded.
