Compass Box Hedonism Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Dr Whisky

    • With faint whiffs, this is full of Oil of Olay-type face creams. With deeper nosing there is vanilla, jojoba suncreams, some herbal liquor elements, and green strawberries. Delve too deep and the nose prickles.

Sexy, silky entry in the mouth, with bourbon creaminess, sweet toffee and cocoa cake batter, pistachio and stracciatella gelati, with a slightly peppery, even smoky(?) finish.

I have to admit, all I've read about this whisky is true. Silky, sweet, tasteful and a real vanilla flavour. Even people around me who generally do not like whiskey admit that it is pleasant to drink. It's my first blended grain whisky and I really enjoyed it.

I was recommended this at a bar in Seattle. Best whisky I've ever had. First whisky I've had that I think I would prefer straight than in a cocktail.

Simply wonderful. Silky smooth and delicious, it shows what top quality, well aged grain whisky can be.

Just bought a bottle at Brown Derby in Springfield Missouri, $119 hope it's as good as you all say I'll let you know here in a little bit. Yours truly Mr. Enquirer

Mikko this is a blend of grain whiskies aged from 15 to 25 years old. Personally I think its a lovely bottle to go to when you want something different. Its complex for a grain and I like the citrus and coconut notes on the finish. Someone described this as a summer whisky and id tend to agree.

Way too overpriced. Grain whiskies this young are great fruit and vanilla fest, but I would expect ? 25-35 price range.

You can get much more interesting, complex, richer single malts for the money. But this is very good indeed and amazingly smooth. When I am in the mod for smooth great flavours, this will come out of the drinks cupboard

Could not believe this was a grain whisky! One of the best whiskies I have ever had. Delicate and so smooth.

I bought this one because it felt nicely grainy on the palate when I tried it at a trade show, but I got tired of it before the bottle got to ½ full. Way too much new wood, and not in a nice way. Teenager's vanilla perfume + pencils + sawdust. The grain is there somewhere but this one's rather for friends of bourbon than friends of grain.

I was introduced to Hedonism at a private whisky tasting in Singapore recently and it blew me away, from nose to palate it is a unique experience. Very highly recommended

Big up Compass Box! Tried their entire range at a TWE event. Chose this for my father in law's birthday. He ;loves It. But there wasn;t a duff dram in the entire range. All magnificent. This goes so smoothly from nose to palate to finish. Herbs and Spice vying for attention throughout the ride...with a sweet wood bourbonesque touch as well. Faint marshmallow note on the nose carries all this on a bed of vanilla sweetness to the end. Masterful!
