Doorly's Rum is made at the Foursquare distillery in Barbados. The 12 year old carries a picture of the rare Spix's Macaw on the label. This is rich and sweet with notes of tropical fruit and toffee apples.

A good value aged rum, which has a delicate flavour and less intensity than some older more expensive brands.

Tasted at the Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. Preferred over more expensive options. Smooth and full of flavor. Drink with nothing more than an cube of ice.

This rum had a wonderful and complex nose, but when allowed to open and breathe, the finish seemed very one dimensional, and of pure molasses. Was expecting more complexity.

Loved it. Visited the Doorley's Distillery in the late 70's when I was teenager. Amazing experience. The taste of this rum sends me straight back to that visit and the smell of molasis and warm briwn sugar. Just beautiful!

This the the real deal. It's made to the same exacting standards you find in the Scotch Whiskey field. A single distiller blend of pot and column still rums aged (genuinely) for 12 years in old bourbon and madeira casks. It's been tested and found to have no added sugars and no flavourings and additives. All of this is not all that common for supposed aged rums. So all the flavour and complexity is from traditional processes. It's a multi-layer affair with wood from the barrels, toffee, fruit (probably from the madeira casks) and a proper rum flavour courtesy of the pot still. In the scheme of things this is a bargain. You can easily pay more for some S.American rum with dubious age claims and oodles of sugar and whoknowswhat added. This truly is a rum for people who appreciate fine rum. Whether it's to your taste is another matter but definitely one to try as a reference for what aged rum actually tastes like.

Not bad but much better rums out there gor the price, Pampero Anniversario being one. The lack of a cork was dissapointing.

This rum really is as amazing as the rumours have suggested it is!! Very unique taste and smooth, this sipping rum is one of the best out there!! Hopefully it won''t become as extinct as the rare bird which graces the bottle!!
