Scapa 12 Year Old
Product Description

This is a bottling that many fans of this underrated distillery still have a soft spot for - the unpretentious old-style Scapa 12yo: an easygoing dram, delightfully honeyed and malty. Replaced by the short-lived, unloved 14yo shortly before owners Allied sold up to Pernod Ricard.

Well, me thinks I''m a very late bloomer in Reply. I enjoyed 12yo for many years, then was relegated to 14yo, but today I find the 16yo most pleasant to the palate. Truly my favourite with The Macallan 12yo a very close second.

  • Peter Shand

I agree, the 14 year old is one of the most pleasant drams you can get. That and the 15 year old Longmorn are firm favourites. Both replaced by good, but not as good, slightly older age statement bottlings

"unloved 14 yo". Really? I remember the 12 had a strong following but I didn't realise the 14 was unpopular. Even if it was a less successful seller, I would like to say it was also a pleasant dram - smooth, honeyed, elegant.
