An 11-year-old single malt from Bladnoch, matured exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels until it was bottled in 2022. Aromas of heather honey, freshly cut grass and zesty oranges fill the nose, complemented by notes of Parma Violets, crunchy apples and peppery oak spice throughout the palate.

    Whisky Al

    I really, really like Bladnoch 11. It’s the nose that sets it apart from other whiskies. I can happily smell it for an age between sips. So even a small measure can last an hour easily. The nose is described as Parma violets, but I always get such a strong recollection of an old sweet shop, but not toffee as so many whiskies do now. It’s simply lovely and hard to define. The whisky itself is smooth, but not too sweet. Finish medium length with oak dominating. I think it’s an unusual whisky, which more and more is what I want; something different!

    A malt which relies on the single barrel maturation, and is the better for it.
