Glen Scotia Peated 2013 / 8 Year Old / PX Finish / Festival Edition 2022
Product Description

A limited-edition 2013 Glen Scotia single malt, released in celebration of the 2022 Campbeltown Malts Festivals after spending seven-and-a-half years in first-fill bourbon barrels and a further year in first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Aromas of salty sea-spray and soft bonfire smoke fill the nose, complemented by notes of treacle, rich baking spices, earthy peat and coastal salinity throughout the palate.

Got talked into buying this, and don't regret it one bit!! Amazing value for money given cask strength, and superb quality. Sherried, some peat (not too much), and that glen scotia/campbeltown influence all in the mix. I'd say sweeter than the score on TWE, more like a 2-3, as I definitely got sherry sweetness in the otherwise phenolic mix. If you like Lagavulin then you will likely like this.
