(1858) Cognac Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Francis Audemard

Nose:  Very good first impression, very lively, surprising for a cognac so old

    1. Notes of dried roses and poppies
    2. Fruity notes of coconut, passionflower, quince
    3. Woody notes of sandalwood & cedar
    4. Finally, in the empty glass, balsamic and nutmeg

Palate: Cognac that remains full of vigor, a great deal of ‘fattiness’ (physical sensation of a thick liquid on the palette coming from concentration through evaporation over the years) and mellowness.  Exceptional length; Magnificent elegance; Very distinct.

Note: Francis Audemard is an official independent tasting expert to the French courts of law.
