Customer Rating
Released in Spring 2010, this Glenfiddich Rich Oak has spent 14 years in ex-bourbon casks in the traditional way, before two separate finishes of 12 weeks in new European oak and six weeks in new American oak before bottling. We like the sound of this.

I'd only ever had blended scotch until I tried this gem. One of the nicest whiskies I've ever had without question! Smooth, fruity, spicy and all-together very satisfying. I would get it again. Highly recommended!

Bought a bottle of this last week while on a flying visit to the distillery in Dufftown. Drank a few glasses of the 14 year old Rich Oak last night and was well impressed! Very smooth, beautiful taste and absolutely NO hangover the next day,,RESULT! ;-)

Very smooth, like all glenfiddich it is nice, but 15 yr old is much better!

just got this for my birthday ....fantastic favours!

  • Flash from Salisbury 31 December 2013

This one stands out wholesale ! Very smooth and delicious. A serious contender to my favourite which is Glengoyne 10 yr.

  • Al from Kingston 23 December 2013

Been tasting it for a month or more. Yes it is smooth and approachable like most Glenfiddich products. The nose is slightly sweet with some vanilla hints and then nothing. The taste is much the same with no serious pressure on ones senses. There is no finish other then a burning on the side of the tongue, about as complex as a supermarket grape. I like it as a beer chaser, great beginners drink but nothing that would interest an avid scotch drinker.

In my top 3!!! Next to the 21yr old and abunadh. Well done is so smooth, great!

  • The Colonel 11 April 2013

As with the Glenfiddich 15yr, the Rich Oak has a unique ageing process. If you are like me and enjoy experiencing many different whiskies to educate your palate this is definitely worth a try. Another excellent, affordable product from Glenfiddich.

Having been brought up in Speyside I have been a whisky drinker for over 30 years and have always preferred the local whiskies my favourites being Balvenie,Glenlivet,Aberlour and Macallan.I,ve never been a fan of Glenfiddich often thinking it over-rated but I recently received a bottle of Rich Oak for my birthday and have to say it is an exceptionally lovely drink, very smooth and wonderful flavours.Well done Glenfiddich!

The caramel is dominant in the nose, but unfortunately for my taste a little too dry on the palate, a little too acid. The oak is rich alright though. Letting this whisky breathe brings out the best of it ...

    Very nice!

  • Lars Nilsson 30 July 2011

Amazing knowledge in cask influence, this whisky is exceptionally good. For its prize its absolutely amazing value for money.I have bought 2 bottles, soon in need of a third. This is sooo smooth with a really spicy oak smell/taste to it.My suggestion?DONT BUY IT!Save them for me, haha.Love it!!
