A 2005 Ledaig single malt from The Whisky Exchange, matured in a single sherry butt for 13 years before being bottled in 2019. Peaty aromas of damp grass, tar, dried mango, sherbet lemons and chocolate fill the nose, with hints of fresh mint underneath. The palate offers notes of smouldering embers, dark chocolate, cinder toffee, singed fruit cake and black liquorice.Tasting Notes (1)
- Liquorice root
- Dark Chocolate
- Fruit Cake
Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Medicinal peat, damp grass and tar float out of the glass, followed by dried mango, chocolate limes and sherbet lemons. Hints of mint and menthol hide at the back, slowly building with time in the glass.
Rich and smoky, with dark chocolate, cinder toffee and candied lemon balanced by charcoal smoke and earthy peat. Lime zest and peel float through the middle, with black liquorice and menthol following behind. Notes of singed fruit cake develop.
Leathery smoke, lime and singed raisins slowly fade.
A classic sherry-cask Ledaig, fusing dark fruit and liquorice notes with rich charcoal smoke and leathery notes, as well as showing the whisky's underlying fruitiness.

Love this expression of Ledaig. Perfect Balance of peat, sherry and wood. Outstanding Whisky!
My new favourite Sherried Whisky. Amazing!
Great version of ledaig , lovely rich balanced nose & complex in the mouth , one of the best ledaig's i've tasted yet
Wonderful whisky. Great balance of sherry, peat and distillery character. Tropicak fruits, peat and sherry influence. Worth a try.
