Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting notes from Billy A
Nose
Candy necklaces, sugared almonds and spring meadows kick off the sweet side of the nose, with green leaves and freshly cut crass providing some contrast. Sour and savoury touches develop, with salty lemons joined by hints of heather.
Palate
Sweet and fruity – apples, pears and unripe peaches – with a spicy backbone – cinnamon toast and clove. The spice builds on the palate, with the cloves starting to dominate, but it's all balanced out by sweet, but spicy, vanilla sauce.
Finish
Soft and sweet – French toast with cinnamon and syrup – becoming creamy as it fades before landing on polished tables and gentle spice.
Comment
A sweet and fruity whisky that shows off a lighter and more elegant side to Dalwhinnie's character that I wish we saw more often.
